POLITICAL BIOGRAPHY

Maryland Delegate, Marvin E. Holmes Jr. has been a Member of House of Delegates since January 8, 2003. He is a Member of the Environmental Matters Committee, chairs the Natural Resources Subcommittee, member of the Land Use & Ethics Subcommittee and Local Government & Bi-County Subcommittee.

Delegate Holmes is a Member of the Prince George’s County Delegation; Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission Committee, and served as 2nd Vice Chair of the Delegation, 2003-2010. He is a Member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland (formerly Maryland Legislative Black Caucus); Maryland Green Caucus; Maryland Veterans Caucus; Member, National Conference of State Legislatures (legislative effectiveness & state government committee).

Delegate Holmes served as a Member of the Governor's Commission on Housing Policy, 2003-04 (chair, affordable housing subcommittee) and is still participates in the Task Force on Business-Owner Compensation in Condemnation Proceedings, 2004-Present.

Delegate Holmes is the acting Chair, Democratic Party Caucus, 2011-present

Delegate Marvin E. Homles Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Marvin now lives in the state which he proudly serves, Maryland. Some of his accomplishments that have prepared him to serve Maryland include:
