POLITICAL BIOGRAPHY
Maryland Delegate, Marvin E. Holmes Jr. has been a Member of House of Delegates since January 8, 2003. He is a Member of the Environmental Matters Committee, (housing & real property subcommittee; local government & bi-county agencies subcommittee; motor vehicles & transportation subcommittee; affordable housing work group, 2004; motor vehicle issues work group, 2004; co-chair, housing for individuals with disabilities work group, 2004).
Delegate Holmes is the 2nd Vice-Chair, Prince George's County Delegation, (Member, bi-county committee). He is a Member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland (formerly Maryland Legislative Black Caucus); Maryland Green Caucus; Maryland Veterans Caucus; Member, National Conference of State Legislatures (legislative effectiveness & state government committee).
Delegate Holmes served as a Member of the Governor's Commission on Housing Policy, 2003-04 (chair, affordable housing subcommittee) and is still participates in the Task Force on Business-Owner Compensation in Condemnation Proceedings, 2004-Present.

Delegate Marvin E. Homles Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Marvin now lives in the state which he proudly serves, Maryland. Some of his accomplishments that have prepared him to serve Maryland include:
Tuskegee University (engineering). Served in U.S. Coast Guard, 1970-74 (unit commendation award; national defense service medal; presidential honor guard: search and rescue aircrewman). Branch manager, The Tech Group, Inc., 1995-1997 (executive director, marketing and planning, 1995-96). W. F. Chesley Real Estate, Inc., 1989-2002. New home sales consultant, U. S. Home Corporation, 1998-2002. New home marketing and sales, Bernie Schultz Realty, 2002-04. Project Manager of Land Planning and Engineering, K. Hovnanian, 2003-Present. Member, Greater Mt.
